Hahaha. I think you've gone 'round the bend. On my first day in Chicago there was a freak snow/hail storm. When I described it to my Dad and a few other people they said (all knowingly), "Oh, that's just the lake effect." Which apparently means we can blame all freak occurences on Lake Michigan, or the wind blowing off Lake Michigan or whatever.
