My father and I attended the same high school and the same college. I was an Honors student and he was the quarterback of the football team. He's always said that if we attended school at the same time, he probably would've tried to shut me in my locker or hang me up by my underwear.

Anyway, I happened upon your blog, and I just wanted to say hello. Your writing is charming, intelligent and very entertaining. Mike told me you're in grad school for writing - congratulations! I can't wait to pre-order your bestseller on Amazon someday soon.
I felt compelled to respond because my dad went to WMC as well, was a star football player and president of the Preachers, while I was a theatre nerd. So maybe they would have shoved us in lockers, but then they would totally have been grovelling for help writing papers.
