SWF w/CO seeking WM

In trying to figure out if I could substitute pecans for walnuts in a recipe for the Christmas brunch I was throwing, I made the mistake of telling my mother, "But Dad is a better cook than you."

This statement created the need for much backtracking and explanation. Dad really likes to cook. He only cooks when he wants to and has the time- lavish, gourmet meals- when it is my mother's 'job' to put everyday meals on the table. He knows more about cooking because he reads cookbooks all the time.

Finally, Mom smiled and said: "Yeah. Reading cookbooks is boring."

I agreed...and then I helped throw our Christmas Eve party. And then I threw a Christmas brunch. And now I'm throwing a cocktail party before we go out on New Year's.

Suddenly, all I read is cookbooks. This one. And this one. And, my favorite (cuz I met the author and ate her food and all): this one. Not to mention my constant browsing on the food network website, which is so neat because they let you print out recipes in 3 x 5 index card format.

Anyway, I've become a food geek. If I could afford it, I would cook the most lavish tapas for my New Year's party. I would use crab and shrimp. I would spare no spice or expense.

Sadly, this is not to be. I am a babe on a budget. Which means careful examination and consideration of every recipe.

Obviously, I am just in training to become the perfect society wife. If you know any wealthy men (attractive and young would be a plus, too) looking for a life partner/arm trophy kind of deal, let me know.

Will cook in heels.
