Girls with Goals Go Places...

This Monday and Tuesday are our annual sales meetings at my office. This means that all the salesmen from all our satellite offices converge upon the MD branch and spend two days talking and talking...and eating.

Yes, someone has to feed these hungry salesmen.

So we order in breakfast and we order in lunches and we send them all out for dinner. The office, for once, is brimming with food.

And it is my personal goal to survive off of this free office food for the entire duration of these sales meetings. I have consumed, so far: free bananas, muffins, chicken, BBQ sandwich, potato salad, baked beans, OJ, Diet Coke. I have also stolen a Barq's rootbeer and a Chocolate Powerbar (I dunno, it was free) for later.

I am a master of free food utilization. I think it is a skill left from my college days.

In other news, I am now working on two NaNoWriMo pieces. Because I suck. I have to finish at least one of them. I was going to stick with Family Jewels, my cheap romance novel, but I kind of hate it and everyone in it. So I started The Duchess of Drama, a chick lit novel loosely based on my experiences in summer stock theater that was just begging me to write it. Begging. I hate beggars.

I received my second rejection letter in the mail yesterday. It was from Cricket Magazine, for the children's short story I sent them. Two rejection letters received. Countless to go. I rock. I am on my way to greatness.

Actually, currently I am on my way to raid the breakfast table outside of the conference room. Ciao.
